Our Trip to Walt Disney World

In August we visited Florida to experience the hot and humid weather
and Walt Disney World!! We had a lot of fun - rides, shows, characters, food!!

Our 1st day was at Downtown Disney - lots of shopping

Everything is Disney - even the food

We visited with lots of Disney characters, even while we ate.
Who knew Tigger was so tall??

We had some long days.  Mark, Nick, and Sara as we wait for
the bus to go back to our hotel after day #2 at Magic Kingdom.

Another character meal with Donald, Goofy, and Minnie

And of course it wouldn't be Disney World without the Princesses.
We got to see at least six of them several different times!

Other fun things about Disney World......

The landscaping was great
(of course Lynn appreciated it more than the rest of the family.
And the kids were tired of me taking pictures of it.)

We watched the Main Street Electrical Parade one night.
The lighting on the castle changed continuously
and there were fireworks after the parade complete
with a real live Tinker Bell flying through the air.

The housekeeper always had a surprise for us in our hotel room.
We never knew what to expect.

We had lots of favorite rides.  One of them was the Star Tours ride
that we went on four times.  The kids got to build their own lightsabers too
(to add the the two we already had at home).

Even though the heat index was over 100 degrees most days Nick was still cold
in the air conditioned restaurants, especially when he was wet.
One sympathetic waitress suggested that he wear his rain poncho
while we ate to try to trap some of his body heat from his huge build!!

If you ask Sara what her favorite ride was she would tell you it certainly
wasn't the Mad Tea Party.  After all that spinning she had to spend a few hours
back in our hotel room recuperating.  Not a ride she will ever do again.
