A trip to Madison

We decided to take a short trip to Madison before we head back to work and school.

We spent part of the day at the Madison Children Museum.  It relocated and opened a year ago and this was our first visit in the new location.  It's a great musem and we all had a lot of fun.  I would recommend a visit for any kid!

We realized that Nick has never seen a pin ball machine before.  Sad!!  He loved playing it and kept going back for another game

Who is he calling anyway?

The boys were busy making a craft project out of pinecones and twigs.
Of course they had to be carried around with us for three hours
so they could come back home with us.

This was really cool!  It was a glass wall to paint on.  I don't know what they liked doing more -
painting on it or using a spray bottle and squeegee to clean it off.
(This was one of Sara's favorite spots in the museum.)

Sara & Mark in the giant gerbil wheel

Another thing the kids have never experienced before.

Of course there was a cow - it's Wisconsin you know.

Next we were off to State Street and the UW Campus.

Of course they would sell cheeseheads at the UW Bookstore.

We also went to the Union for ice cream on the Terrace.

People thought there were five monkies sitting on the bench!

Sara's always wanted to see the Statue of Liberty.

Although we saw some interesting people on
State Street there was nothing too bizzare.
Sara did ask why there were
so many signs that said "Recall Walker"

  1. It's funny thinking of things the kids have never experienced when I think they were so normal way back when!

  2. Was that their first telephone booth too?
