Our Trip Out West - This & That

We spent eleven days traveling across three states to explore and enjoy nature and scenery.  Our stops included Rapid City, Shoshone National Forest, Yellowstone National Park, Cody Wyoming, Custer State Park, and Badlands National Park.  We saw so many different things and took hundreds of pictures.  I hope you enjoy looking at our pictures and sharing some of our trip.  Here are some pictures that didn't make the other pages.

Mark, Nick, & Sara hiking on Elephant Back Trail in Yellowstone the day before a grizzy bear (with her two cubs) attacked a hiker.  As a result the bear was put down the next week.

Nick's large mouth bass in Custer State Park

Badlands

Nick's hand next to a footprint left from a bobcat or mountain lion on a trail in the Badlands.

A lunch stop in Gillette, WY

Hail in Yellowstone Park

A rainbow in Yellowstone after the storm

Sara in Yellowstone Lake

An old time gas pump outside of the Badlands Park

See that little road down there?  That's what we drove on to get up the mountain.  We weren't even to the top yet.

We saw many of these huge snow fences on our trip.

Mark, Sara, & Nick's first hike of the trip in the Bighorn Mountains.  (See the three little specks up there?)

Our neighbors at the campground in the Badlands.  They were U.S. Diplomats traveling in their old VW bus camper.  (It reminded me of Michelle & Stephane).
