Our Trip Out West - Badlands National Park

Our last destination was the Badlands National Park.  It was certainly different from the other places we visited but still unique in it's own way.  These were the hottest days of our trip.  We decided to head home a day early since it was suppose to be 93 degrees and there is no shade to be found!

This sign greeted us at the start of Notch Trail.  Luckily we didn't see any snakes on our hike.

Nick loved climbing and hiking.

This was the ladder we had to climb to get to the upper level of Notch Trail.  It wasn't as bad going up as it was coming down.

This was the overlook at the end of Notch Trail.  It was a stunning view.

We saw a couple of big horn sheep in the Badlands.

Another trail on a butte that Nick, Sara, and Mark decided to hike.  It was labeled as strenuous and although it typically takes 30-45 minutes they raced and finished in 15.

This was our picnic spot for dinner.  We had a scrumptious meal of grilled hot dogs and cans of corn and baked beans.

A beautiful sunset over the Badlands.
